On what planet would anyone 'buy it now' for £16,200? Surely they have the decimal point wrong, £16.20 might be nearer the mark.
Towing
I used to have a Dockrell 17 and that had an all up towing weight of 1100kg. The trailer cost me more to maintain than the boat did!
If you are still stuck I have a Vivaro van that is more than capable of towing most trailer sailers.

How long ago was it since you attended the course?
If you can remember who you took the course with and contact them, most of us radio instructors keep a record of who passed what and when.
Other than that, RYA certification department may be able to help.
Kubota
I would not have any hesitation fitting one of these units. In the twenty odd years I worked with Kubota I never had cause to strip one down. Mitsubishi, however, was another matter.

Chartering toolkit
I thoughly agree with the above, if yoou find that there is not a basic toolkit on board you should be demanding one, better still find a charter company that does supply what is essential to a safe charter.
Maybe the moral of that story is check the boats itinerary before...
