I was refering the the panel on the upper helm where you tuck your feet in as seen below. Upon reflection I think you may be talking about something else.
Thanks for posting that picture. My flybridge is the same. I was thinking of an easily removable access panel something like this:

Then I can pop it open and check periodically for water ingress so the new ceiling doesn't get damaged.

Bit more work this week, bit nippy over the weekend. Removed the davits from the back, removed the old Eberspacher heater and bits and bobs. New Chinese version waiting to go in - with CO alarm!

Fitted the bedroom ceiling and lights etc. Needs a bit of tweaking but its pretty much there now. I will wait until the weather warms up in the spring/summer and adjust the alignment slightly. Everything is as stiff as cardboard with the cold. It is really bright in the bedroom - you could operate in there. However I am a totally carp photographer.

Not happy with the last panel above the door - it's not straight in the picture here. It is now but It's held up with Super Velcro and doesn't feel overly secure. I will have a rethink and probably split it into two panels to keep the centre line. It doesn't look quite right as one big panel. And the good news is the bathroom/bedroom door just clears the new ceiling.

And started the dry fit of the saloon ceiling with the hidden fixings to give a similar finish as per the bedroom:

This is probably the last post about the boat by me until the new year. I have been given a "list" to do before Xmas and then visitors start arriving.
I have been told to play nice and not to sulk. Bah Humbug!!! (I'm not a Xmas fan)
So finished (mostly) the dry fit of the saloon ceiling and fitted the lights temporarily to check it all fits. There is a little bit of fine fettling to do, but all the panels and pelmets are pretty much ready for covering with vinyl etc. That will now be new year.

Looks really well K. Have you considered sunken led cob strip lighting in the headlining? That looks trick

I did think about it a lot. I was going to do the forward cabin with built in LED strip lights. Then I saw a fairline corniche on youtube where someone had done that and went off the idea. However I am going to nick his fold down transom door idea.
However MrsA wants under counter led lighting in the galley and saloon so there will be some.

I have managed to do a few bits in the garage, but nothing significant to report apart from 9 metres of white foam backed vinyl arriving and MrsA has chosen a galley worktop finish. And I have started rebuilding the galley. New cupboard above the worktop and modified other cupboards to accept hinged doors.

And fixed a badly leaking airvent, to now discover the starboard windscreen leaks like a tap on my new kitchen cupboard.
Will sort with some sealant temporarily until the boat is back in the water and I can have a proper look at it. It's a bit scary on the foredeck with the boat on oil drums and howling winds. And a bucket full of Haefele cupboard hinges and 18mm ply in the garage waiting to be sliced and diced into galley cupboard doors.
