In the process of fitting the exhaust into the boat after re engine. However the Vetus LP waterlock is to bulky to allow it to be fitted level. I can squeeze on about 3 inches of exhaust hose between elbow and waterlock but this leaves it tilting forward slightly. The shape of the hull aft rises quite sharply just behind the engine. On the original installation it was secured with bits of string and l'm trying to avoid this. Is it ok to have these things tilted slightly (back end up, as it were) Other than that can anyone suggest another make of waterlock with a smaller base area. All suggestions gratefully received. Engine is 28 hp diesel.
Thx

Looking in the Vetus brochure there is the circular type that only has a small footprint 165mm or 210mm depending on size, BUT they recommend 300mm between elbow and water lock. Also there should be at least 250mm vertically between lowest level of elbow and water level in waterlock. Try and avoid any sag in pipe between elbow and waterlock as it will not drain and can flow back into engine.
