Nico's coming hooning in from the west.
He's posted a video of his boat blasting along at 20+kn in what he describes as 'ideal conditions' (Tue PM) so maybe it was a smart move to go W, even if he did fall back in the rankings.

Significantly, the forecast looks like he could ride the same wind for a couple of days while others in the E have to deal with multiple jibes and traffic congestion. He could reach the doldrums more rested than the others.

Some links if you are frustrated by the patchy quality of the official English language coverage.

Sam D's site has a tracker that you may prefer to the official tracker. ( Initiatives-Cœur défie les océans pour sauver des enfants )The site has updated on her progress.

Boris Herman's charismatic young shore team will be doing a weekly YouTube program on Mondays at ?1830? Will Harris, (Boris' standby skipper) is an impossibly impressive sailor and communicator for one so young.

A budding Dutch sailing journo is doing a daily YouTube program on a channel called SeaWolves. @SeawolvesTV (A bit lacking in serious analysis in the 1st program. Hopefully, it will improve.)

The guy at Sailworld is planning on posting daily videos on on Youtube @sail-World The first short clip that he posted today promises some intelligent analysis.

Has anybody got a link to Andi Robertsons channel, I watched some of it the other day but canny find it the noo.
This gets you to the VG news page. Today's Andi Robertson 'live' is centre of top row. If you watch it in YouTube, you can 'subscribe' and set alerts. Or just just return to the news page daily (13.30 UTC is new release time) if that's easier.

....Yes, odd that both his pilots are playing up. Fingers crossed for him. It’s tight up there, at the front: top 5 an hour, or less, apart. And maybe about to get tighter, as their breeze runs out. Whilst the pack behind stay powered up. Conrad, on the weather routing dilemma(s) ahead:

The 23:00 update has Sam G back in the lead and flying at 21 k
Tracker is old data
Ah. Thanks.

I reckon Lundven has played the smartest game so far, taking a straight traffic free line while the others were getting hammered and jibing.

He looked incredibly fresh and relaxed in his video today, whereas the others - even the energetic Dalin - are showing the strain.

The extra sleep and energy conservation could give him an edge in the light winds with a lot of trimming ahead.

Richomme also seems to have been minimising course changes since Finistere.

And Le Cam seems to be up to some wily tactics.

EDIT: For the last 24 hours Le Cam's VMG has been pretty much identical to his speed. Point and go? :)
