I just want to say yippeeee; the worst is over - it gets better every day from now on. (...and I don't need nerdies to tell me the days do not get longer immediately......) I just look at the sunsets and know there is going to be another spring. Happy Equinox everyone.

But why are the clocks going forward in the Spring so much further from the equinox than the clocks going backward in the Autumn?

this splendid site gives you all the answers, as well as an excellent annual graphic showing sunrise/set, and the twilights for the whole year.

You'll need to set the location to your home BTW for best results. Sungraph clicky

I stand corrected. Daylight tomorrow is 3 seconds shorter than today. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Actually a single solar day is around 86400.002 seconds at the moment and the days are getting longer by almost 2 ms in a 100 years.

Re: Entropy

Funny thing is it was quite light at 16.25 yesterday. I was quite surprised, seemed to be lighter than I remember it in in the winter, Global Lightening?

Winter Solstice now but perihelion on the 2nd January. But lengthening days. Time to start preparing the sacrifices. Who shall we chose?
