LED tricolour light

I'm so very tempted to make a caustic reply to that, but at 23:53 last night I, too, could have been forgiven for a momentary episode of eonological confusion.

This am was a 'two pots of coffee for breakfast' kind of beginning. I do sincerely hope Oor Wee Webby had a gentler start to his 'Tenth'.

Ha! Thought I had abandoned this post!

Anyway, it's not Led. Just the standard filament quick-fit model.

I think the locking ring and gasket are missing, was wondering if anyone is chucking an old unit out for any reason, as spares seem to be unavailable.

Which model?

It's letting water in, the locking ring seems to be missing. Ignore the first post.

If the locking ring i missing it will fall apart wont it ?

IIRC there should also be a sealing ring but these "quick-fit" fittings, esp the latest are such rubbish that I always tape it on to its base anyway.

In theory replacement parts are available .

The original slow fit type were much better IMHO.

It slots into tabs and turns about 1/2", but looks as though there should maybe also be a locking ring around the outside. No sealing ring.

Think you are right, self-amalgamating tape is the answer. Am goign to put an LED bulb in, and a new wire up the mast, so it should last long enough.

There was more than one design of Aqua Signal Quick fit IIRC and I cannot remember if mine is the same as what you are describing or not . I have the leaflet/ fitting instructions that came with it but that's not a lot of help.
but here is a diagram I found on line. ( click on the diagram to enlarge it )

It looks as though there is no locking ring or seals between the lantern assembly and the base but that there are locking rings and 1 or 2 other components between the parts of the lantern.

I fitted mine in 2009 to replace an old one that had crazed badly and then fitted a three sectored LED unit in it a couple of years later.
