Thanks all for replies about EU boats into UK.
Could the Yachtline or Border Force be contacted via a VHF coastal station? I do not use a telephone, I only have a very old one Nokia-style which is usually totally discharged, maybe I should find a new battery for it.

Don't take this as gospel but "not as far as I know". An issue for me last time I called the national yachtline was that they used to use a number which was expensive to call from most mobile phones and my call to them ended up costing over £10. They use a different number now which is probably included in many people's inclusive UK minutes and where that doesn't apply, shouldn't cost any more than a regular number

So it's going to just be a box-ticking exercise both ways, which is good.

I wonder how long before the 90 day limit gets extended for cruising yachtsmen.

As soon as the UK government agree to reciprocate, I'd think. The EU draft agreement had 6 months in, it was removed because the UK only wanted to reciprocate for some EU states, not all.

The 'phone thing is only temporary. It becomes a web app later this year, so you'll need to g online to file.

Back to the French reporting form

I see it has to be sent electronically (unlike a c1331 which has to be posted!) and the address is for Lehavre. Does anyone know if there is equivalent email addresses for other regions or do they deal with all regions?

The website says that it is a local agreement for Le Havre. For all other jurisdictions, you still have to go to a Port of Entry.

(2) The insurance certificate must cover medical and hospital expenses, including social assistance, for the care you could receive in France. (3) You must have sufficient ressources (cash, bank cards, etc) or be able to acquire them legally (professional activity, etc) up to €32.50 per day and per person to stay in the territory his insurance addendum might be a problem, requiring medical cover or do I read that bit wrong?

Yes, it's a shame the CA can't issue these.

Not sure about that, as it allows them to focus on representing their members. Going down the route of becoming an examining and/or certifying body runs the risk of going the same way as the RYA as they now see themselves as a governing authority and setter of standards who provide direction to rather than taking direction from their membership.

BSAC (diving) issue ICC for power. Must admit, though a member, I resent RYA using ICC as economic leverage for membership. Bit like the AA being the sole issuer of driving licenses with a hefty discount for members.

I think it does, but I have just renewed my boat insurance ( GJW Direct) and I see it has medical cover which was a pleasant surprise.
That inspired a quick read through my Pantaenious policy and whilst it covers I think injury following an accident involving the vessel it is not clear if personal medical emergencies are covered, seems a bit chancy without detailed investigation. I used to have cover via Amex Platinum but no longer have the card after a spell living overseas. I'm thinking a separate travel insurance policy might be needed on top of our still in date EHIC cards.

On balance I'm thinking we may rediscover our wonderful UK cruising grounds until the whole Brexit buggers muddle relating to leisure boating is clarified. Having had one very expensive overseas medical episode , I start off with paranoia on my defects listing..

So the madness of the UK approach for boats arriving is that HMRC and Border Force have not thought to coordinate the process, and therefore need to contact both Yachtline and lookup a number from a long list for Border Force - not even a single number available for the latter).
I believe both RYA and CA have pointed out the madness of this uncoordinated approach by UK bureaucrats.
You obviously missed one of the key aims of Brexit - freedom to practice traditional British tortuous, badly thought out and incompetently applied bureaucracy.

Are EHIC's still valid?
