Work, the curse of the sailing classes has struck and left Stormy and myself without a berth. Does anyone need crew? Any sailing lessons welcome too ;)
Sorry about that. I now find that I need to work on that weekend so Mistral won't make it and I can't now offer berths to our excellent crew from Yorkshire.

I'm happy to provide references. Aquaplane and Lady S are great company, can rustle up a cooked breakfast which will keep you going all day, and they know the area very well. A major bonus is that with Lady S in your quiz team you are very likely to win on Friday night.

The only likely downside is that you might need to wrestle the tiller out of Aquaplane's hands!!! and if you're driving a seajet then you might need to tell Aquaplane where to sit!!

I liked Rothesay the last time we went, Another option for consideration. It always seems like too close to sail there on Saturday but how about going the long way. Just had a look on the charts and I reckon its 30 miles from the Cumbrae pontoon going clockwise around Bute.

Going the long way to Rothesay was mentioned last year and was greeted with mixed feelings. I guess as usual a passage plan will be formed in the haze of Friday night.

Does anyone know the max LOA for the inner harbour at Rothesay?
I suspect if the decision is to go for it I will be restricted to the hammerhead, outer harbour.
Sensible thing would be to phone ahead, but who does sensible?

It's Erica and me that are looking for berths, Ash has been made an offer he couldn't refuse so unfortuately he can't make it.

It's a bit short notice for us to make use of the midwife, I'll see what we can do for next year if that's OK? Second thoughts, I'll pass on that.

I'm sure that I have a mobile no for the berthing master, but it's on the boat.

I'm sure that you would in OK in the inner harbour, but you would be better to book a space.

For scale, this is 'Mistral' at 27' between the big un and Hummingbird. I'm sure that the 2 on the pontoon next to the town were even bigger.

I’ll bring the Whisky

Sorry that it’s a blend …… but it’s the large bottle of Grants Family Reserve from the barrel, and I’ve only managed to drink a quarter (it’s a big bottle!). ;)

And if we manage to finish it between the Fleet FC can take it home to complete the presentation display with the cask (aka barrel). :)

So!... if some thoughtful Scuttlebutter can produce a bottle of Drambuie it can be Rusty-Nails all round. :D

Plus! Guitar for that song regarding a well known barrel & something aboot the 14th floor. :D

"make use of the midwife"

Always!

They’re great for many things:

Injections to prevent / reduce bruising.
Sutures for all eventualities.
Slapping the noisy ones.
Being nice to all fathers.
Administering pain relief (we could be needing some of this).
And last but not least… identifying and resolving issues before they become too serious…. example of major issue on the SB weekend….. my glass is nearly empty and I am close to being in desperate need of a refill. ;) :D

Is it not a bit early for that yet Pete?
I am hoping to be in Milli at the wk end so can pop in and ask.
Gordon, there was a 50 ft converted fishing trawler along the street pontoon (inner harbour) last season, though he might have had a bow thruster! so you tie up before the rest of us go in:D
You can also contact David on, 07825332185, he is one of the attendants who collects the fees, DONT give him any cheek!
A while since I have saw HB with the Tpee up.

Has anybody contacted Cumbraes to ask for the bar to be open on the Friday night?

Hi PC,

I contacted the CWC to enquire about the pontoon regarding use of, as I was told there might be issues due to some damage from the bad weather.
But all appears to be well and we are advised to contact them the week-of for final confirmation etc.

OG :)

[COLOR="Black OH Dear. It's time I got a job on TCC comittee again.
Our opening muster is on 28th at Largs, which allows the Friday night stuff, and probably any Sunday stuff but stuffs us for the Saturday night stuff.
No, I won't be allowed to choose otherwise, looks as if I'm well and truly Kapoked..
Having said that, the boat's still not finished yet, so I may be be grounded anyway.
