Bought another boat.

It’s looking so good!

Just a tip…if it bothers you…the led strip reflection showing each led can be solved by buying COB led strips. It’s basically a continuous affair so no individual leds visable

A tiny tiny point. Awesome job

It hasn't gone on Ebay. In fact Its now pretty much finished. Still haven't fitted the curtains and made the bed up etc because winter is here. They will just get damp over the winter. However I have been busy. Modified a mattress for the main bed. Bought a memory foam one from Amazon in a vacuum packed roll. Really easy to do, Just have to resist opening it at home, and unpack it on the boat when it's in the right place (ish) then cut the plastic bag open. After three days - Voila a king size and very comfy mattress ready to be made to the usual boat size and shape with a bread knife. I then modified the original zip on cover to fit (well nearly, its close enough)

Also sorted the sofa bed in the lounge. Bought one in the sale from Jysk. It comes in three boxes so can be manhandled onto the boat pontoon etc.
A bit too big and I didn't like the arms. And It wouldn't actually fit! But no problem, the Singer sewing machine and a circular saw sorted that out! Pulled all the staples out of the upholstery and effectively "unpeeled" the relevant bits back to the wooden frame etc. Bit scary at first but it was pretty easy to do.

I have some pics but Imgur has been shut down in the UK so looking for a new picture hosting site. Suggestions welcome

This week it has been engine servicing. So the very ancient cambelts have gone, new oil etc and they now start on the button - well key.
I will post some pics in the Spring when all the cushions and curtains are on board of the finished boat.
What did it all cost??????
When I bought it I had it surveyed and the surveyor estimated it would be worth about £6K more if the interior was in proper condition etc. Which is lucky as the bill for all the bits, glue, foam backed vinyl, wrap, paint, etc was £6,200.
Fun fact! I also got through about 2300 stainless steel staples.

Sounds awesome Mr K! Just add photos on the forum from your phone. Are you on an iphone?

Or open the photo, tap on the picture of a pen at the bottom of the page making it outlined with a white box. Then click on the three white dots in the top right hand corner, then tap on "Resize" choose your % resize, (40%) is fine for here.

Be aware, you will be permanently changing the size and quality of that image.

Thanks Ribtecer for the screen shot tips. Pics reduced in data size

Sofa as displayed in the shop with wide arms - too wide to fit

Sofa on board with striped back and modified arms. MrsA pointed out I needed to leave a gap at the window end for the curtains to slide back into. Good point, hadn't thought of that.

The finished sofa with reupholstered arms and shortened chaise bit. Had to do the upper piece first as it is fully sprung so can only modified it in multiples of the round internal springs. Removed two rows of springs which fortunately is about bob on. Then did the base section which is just MDF to fit.

That's it until the spring.

Yes it pretty much is. A few small jobs left. Some bits of skirting board trim to paint and fit, wire up the new mains distribution board. About a days worth of work. Then load on all the new soft furnishings, cushions, seats, curtains, rescue ring etc. I went to check the boat a few days ago and everywhere, pontoons etc are covered in ice so it's really not safe at the moment and the marina is also frozen over and way too cold for painting glueing.

I am waiting until probably the beginning of march as all the soft stuff will just get damp at the moment. Once we start getting a few nicer days I will do some light sanding, hole filing and polishing on the superstructure so that it is all white rather than white with beige bits.
Then I will do some pictures with some of the original pics to compare......and then I will start using it and see what then breaks.......40 year old out drives, no known service history, what could possibly go wrong? They will be fine doing 6 knots in fresh water. It will take another 40 years for the gears to rust away.

I thought I sent the transom pics by email, Do you need them again or post them on here?

P.S. if anyone wants to see all the older pictures in this thread, if you have a VPN, set it to somewhere in europe then open this forum, they will all be visible.

You did…cant find them 🤣🤣

Not sure you sent me finished finished ones though. Cant remember

Some all finished and in use photos would be marvellous!

Despite the weather got some more jobs done.
New consumer unit to replace the original 2 wire fuse jobbie. We now have proper RCDs and mcbs. The little electricity meter is useful for checking that things like the battery charger, immersion heater etc are actually working. When I bring the Li Ion battery/inverter on board I can check what it is delivering. The little meter also measures frequency and power factor. My ancient dehumdifier is well off.

And a neighbour was having a clear out and gave me 2 directors chairs. Still got loads of blue cloth and piping so got the sewing machine out again while the weather is so wet and windy.
