Bought another boat.

Kash just looking at dist board , how many circuits do you have going out to stuff .not sure the neutrals are right.
What have you spotted Seastoke? There are four circuits going out. One of which is not completed yet.
Ring main, immersion heater, battery charger and a separate supply for my Li Ion battery pack. The battery charger and Li Ion have their own RCD on the far right

well the second rcbo should not be supplied from the output of the first rcd but from the supply side or it will trip the first one . Also it looks like all the neutrals are together but I may be wrong .

Sorry for being critical, but...

Type B RCDs are a better choice than Type A
Dihool RCDs are chaep and nasty
No point in fitting a second RCD just for the LFP charger. The only time for 2 RCDs is in a proper split consumer unit, which yours is not, nor does it need to be.

The red and black cable you have used is the wrong colour and it's the wrong type, should be fine multi strand on a boat. Looks like the boat was originally wired with this, so likely a big job to replace it all, but would be nice to use what you can with the consumer unit update.

So, as a minimum, get rid of the 2nd RCD

Better yet, get rid of both RCDs and the double pole switch and just fit a dual pole type B RCBO from a good manufacturer. Then all you need to do is connect that to the MCBs and the busbar.

Thanks gentlemen for the advice and tips. Please be critical, it's why I posted the picture.
The first device on the left is a change over/isolator switch so I can select shore power or inverter power. It isn't a breaker.
Which make of RCBOs do you recommend? I think these just came from screwfix.
What is the advantage/preference for a type B RCBO on a boat?
I will lose the second RCBO.
The neutrals are not all together, The incoming neutral goes through the selector switch, then through the 1st RCBO, then to the neutral bus.

The original cables installed by Fairline are black and red solid core 2.5mm throughout the boat. I was a bit surprised when I discovered it, I was expecting flex. I did wonder about ripping it all out but it is in very good condition. The boat has only ever been on lakes and rivers so vibration and shock etc are minimal. I went through and checked every connection. No breaks or loose connections or corrosion. So I am inclined to leave it alone.

Ah yes, i see that now. Obviously leave that, just replace the RCD with a RCBO, rated for you shore power hookup 16A or 32A.

From Screwfix ; https://www.screwfix.com/p/british-...le/396yc#product_additional_details_container

Type B also detect smooth DC leakage, but they are expensive, so perhaps stick with type A, which the one above is.

I thought the original wiring was looked like old style domestic stuff, my Princess is the same. It's been there since 1988 without any issues, i'm replacing bits as i come to it, but not in a hurry to pull the boat apart for it.

Moving in day today......
The Li-ion battery power pack is all installed and seems to work well. The home made exterior cushions fit properly. And the new curtains (Dunhelm - spared no expense) are up!

So much for my buy it all at bargain prices ethos. MrsA has now been aboard and is now buying all sorts of stuff I never knew we needed. Has anyone else got a cake slice aboard???
And we now have new black fenders.....

Well it took a fair bit longer than expected. Came in pretty much to budget and it is pretty much finished. As my earlier pics are not visible in the UK I have added some of the pics when I bought the boat back in October 23.

The eagle eyed will spot a Princesss 37 moored behind me on another pontoon. 30 years ago we bought a Princess 37 and it was moored in the same spot. I did check, but it is not the same boat. It's in good nick though. Anyone spotted the bit I have forgotten?

I think it is this: Polypropelene (so very scrubable - river boats get muddy, especially with a bouncy dog aboard) with a felt backing. In the lounge I stapled it under the patio door, then a small skirting board keeps the rest down flat and the top step down to the galley keeps it tight. Elsewhere I used super strong double sided tape for carpets. I went for a berber style carpets as the pile comes up again with a good vaccing. The cheaper twist piles can go horrible pretty quickly.

Star Loop Carpet

A couple more. MrsA seems to have finished adding ballast to the boat..........for now.

The Lithium battery power pack. It's on wheels to get it in and out. The left hand switch in the fuse box is a change over switch so it works like a generator.
