Can anyone suggest where I can get a replacement battery for a Nexus NX1500 h/h VHF? I can't find anything from a Google search & it would be a terrible waste of an otherwise perfectly good radio.
There were a number of Battery Pack constructors online - basically you gave them the details of the battery pack .. Brand / ID code etc and if they can get the info - they would create a new pack.
In the case of a Li Ion pack such as the Nexus - it most likely has a management board sitting inside the battery case which is essential to its working ... in this case - such battery constructors would usually open the case - replace the cells and close up..... leaving the board in place and functioning.
Just been searching online and the constructors I've used - I cannot find anymore ... !! mmm not good !!
The other way of course is to carefully open the case and take careful note of how it fits together .. board ... wires etc. Identify the LiIon cells in it and order online replacements ... you will of course have to solder them in yourself ...
Finally - some radios have a 12V socket ... so you can power from external source ... I have two radios that I have LiPo 3S packs velcro'd to back of radio and connected via jack plug ... (note it still needs the battery pack and board - even though packs batterys are dead).
I see its a 7.4v LiIon .... that's a 2S Li cell pack ... shouldn't be hard to open up and replace ... plenty of Li cell sellers online ... as its a common rating for flashlights / models etc. The matter is the physical dimensions
