I know its not same ... but the Perkins 4-107 I have in my boat (43HP) is an old 'junker' ...
My 4-99 seized and I was offered the 4-107 as a straight drop in .... vintage probably late 60's mid 70's engine. Hard to tell as the serial number was sent to Perkins and they couldn't identify it except to say - it was most likely a stationary power plant engine from very early days of the 107 ...
Guy had taken it out of his Rustler 30 and left it in the yard ... it was put on a pallet and put to back of shed ... years later I gave 250 quid for it subject to it actually starting.
Yard diesel guy - Alan - fitted the engine after checking it still turned over. Few squirts of juice and she fired up ....
That engine is still doing a very good job in my boat over 15yrs later ..... runs smooth as sewing machine.
Just after I brought the boat over here - I had trouble with the injection pump ... it was gummed up .... had a diesel engineer at the boat .. he sorted the pump ... checked over the general running and reckoned she'd outlast me !!
