Hi all

I have a 52ft Astondoa motor boat currently moored on the tidal Medway and was looking for any advice in regard to taking a trip or 2 into the non tidal side.
She is just under 5ft below the water and 14,1/2ft above as the radar arch has been removed. Beam is 16ft so she is quite wide as well.
I am worried obviously about Aylesford old bridge.

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

No problem with care.
Nip up to Allington and speak to the lock staff.
There are some Thames sailing barges up there and even bigger vessels.
Just a case of getting to Aylesford with the right amount of water under the keel and air draft above.

Thank you very much, I will pop down to Allington over the weekend.
If you are convoying up to Allington over the summer or maybe for the river festival please let me know as I would love to join up.

Up at Allington over B/H weekend, may a have spotted your boat at MBM, we hope to be going up to the MRV again at the end of July.
Would suggest that a exploratory trip up simply to have a look at the bridge might well be in order prior to any actual intention to transit under the bridge. With your boat in mind timing would be critical.
As for the actual festival, suspect you will find it very difficult to find anywhere to moor along any of the walls in the town centre and find 5ft + of water.
Plus most craft moor stern to and your vessel would probably severely restrict navigation of the river.
The bottom is hard and props are expensive .:)
