I think your Blogs are just right LR. I enjoy watching the videos more than watching most of the carp on TV at the moment. Keep up the good work and best wishes for your cruise.

Looking forward to reading about your voyage. It is always exciting in a new boat.

You've obviously done a lot of preparation which is good to see as well.

A boat like yours should be in her element on a decent sea passage - not so sure about the Broads, though!

Above all enjoy the experience.

Wow. Just skimmed through the thread. I was sweating and could feel myself blushing and getting all tense in places.

The sea trial in particular had my reading through cupped hands and took me back to my childhood watching Dr Who from behind the settee.

You don't need gale force winds to put a boat through it's paces. If and when things do fail as they are likely to do on a re-commissioning sea trial the last thing the rescue services want are pitching seas.

I look forward to hearing that you and the boat have made it safely into the calm of the Norfolk Broads.

On the sea trial it got too rough for you to film so just a thought. What about placing a few of the cheap "Internet Go-pro" style cameras around Independence then taking the best of what they yield? It would free you up to helm the boat and edit the journey after? Just a thought.

When the next instalment due ? Hows the weather looking down in the SW then ? very interesting learning curve here for may I suspect so do keep posting - are there to be films of your voyage from a bow mounted Go Pro into the Solent as I can see some great opportunities arising here for you. Best of luck for the weekend passage making

He's on his way according to the last AIS (nearly 3 hrs ago).
Doing 10+kts heading across Lyme Bay.
Should be approaching Portland by now.

Edit: AIS just updated - about 10nm from Portland.

He's picked a better day to start his passage than he did for his seatrial.
