Looking for any views from owners etc about the HR31.......have fallen in love with one and just need that extra push to do something about it!! :-)

Used to have one. Brilliant, fantastic, sails like a dream, well built! Not the best value for money but well worth the extra cost for the extra pleasure and resale value.
Is that enough?
Fair winds.

Nice boat, I nearly bought one myself. However, I found the bunks a bit short and the cockpit coaming not too comfortable to lean against. This might be due to my particular shape! But I would check it out.

Having done some day sailing in an HR 31 it was on my shortlist, It sails well, seems to be very sea-kindly, but as others have said it is best suited to bodies under 5'10", as bunks are very cosy.

It is a very pretty boat.

You snitch :P

To be fair we didn't break it, well we did, but the bit we split hadn't been hallbergrassyiesed and we were out in a tad under 40 knots at the time.

It now has, and we couldn't break it on the way back in slightly less conditions. It wouldn't stop me buying one, only one thing does....Money :(

God word spreads quick doesn't it...I know where the leak came from though ;)

Buy it! I've got one (1996 vintage) and absolutely lover her.

Very seaworthy, had her out in a F8 on a few (too many!) occasions and felt perfectly safe and reasonably dry. The downside is that she will stop in a short (Solent) chop and does struggle in light winds. The 31 is not the fastest thing afloat but it always feels nice arriving in carpet slippers and smoking jacket rather than drenched oilies!

It is true what others have said, the 31's bunks are on the 'bijou' side but the four of us (2 adults, a teenager and 10 year old) spent 4 weeks aboard this summer without need for physiotherapy afterwards.

Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

Cheers

Mark

:D Strewth news travels faster on YBW than even News International could cope with. :D

My only experience of Hallberg Rassy is a 26 that a decent bloke down at Brighlingsea has.
What a great place to be for its relatively modest 26feet.

I have little doubt the 31 is any less of a well finished boat.
