Hi everyone.
I thought I introduce myself since I just joined this forum. I have sold my beloved Sealine 215 which I purchased 11 years ago and I was based at MDL Chatham. After a couple of years planning an upgrade and looking at newer boats, I decided to buy a Merry Fisher 895-2 in June this year. We came to Penton Hook in 2019 for the summer aboard Sea Dragon , my old Sealine, and my wife fell in love with the area, so she asked me to consider moving the new boat to Penton Hook, so I did.
Looking forward to meet fellow boat owners and hopefully I would be able to make my contribution to this community at some point.

Shame about MDL evicting the club, which was probably the best thing that marina had to offer and a social meeting point missing in all the other marinas ?
The blokes might find it irresistable to sit on their boat making Brrm Brrm noises and planning distant cruises they know they will never ever do but the girls want to sit round a table with a glass of something cheap and out of the rain.

Any arm and leg resturant will last just as long as the new owners start up cash or MDL call in the bailiffs. Bray anyone.
Still , MDLs loss.

Hi Oldgit, I received an email from MDL last week regarding their proposal. The email did not give details, just mentioned their proposal. I have been at the PHYC twice and it is a lovely place. It is indeed a shame that the company has plans to replace the clubhouse with something else, most likely some sort of upmarket restaurant or similar. I have not spoken to any member as such but I have noticed the sentiment amongst other boat owners, some of wish are flagging LED banners on their boats asking for support to the club. It is a noble gesture and I wish the club members and staff all the very best and success. Unfortunately the pessimist in me is old enough to know that money talks and some of us walk.
