the reason it was there was it came by road. it had not done the qualifying milage to say every thing was ok to sail in the round world race in 1997.tosail from penarth to start line would let them qaualify.

spot on graham the bbc turned the beach into a film set for the period play !our mutual friend! the banks of the river thames .over to you graham!

Next Question is You arrive at a Bristol Channel destination in the day and have to leave a RED navigation mark to stbd.

On the way out in the dark you leave the same mark to port but now its Green. Where are you?

It could be various traffic light marks at several places, or is it something sneaky like a directional beacon, or even sneakier like an old navaid on the roadside somewhere painted red on one side and green on the other?

Not traffic lights or anything sneaky.I'll give you guys a clue its a lighthouse thats painted RED and has a GREEN light.You leave it to Stbd on the way in which is obviously unusual in daylight.
