Problem is, those of us who want out are all lumped into the same bucket whereas reasons vary greatly. My wife of 46 years is an immigrant but despite that I'm not against immigration, just want to have some control of who we allow in and be able to rid ourselves of undesirables without being told we can't. However, as far as I'm concerned, immigration is only one part of the discussion which is far too complex to discuss here.

Judging by our lack of success in dealing with those cases which fall within our remit such as visa overstayers, convicted criminals who judges have said must be deported, and the thousands of illegals who have escaped our woeful border security, what would really change if EU citizens were in some way excluded from the UK

Re: So What Does It All Mean For You?

Truly, the ignorant turkeys have voted for Xmas . . . Where once we had politicians running the country and they're bad enough, now we're going to get a bunch of opportunistic half-wit clowns and Little Britain rabble-rousers. Trump as President will complete the set and with Putin and Baby Kim running the rest of the show we can all kiss our -rses (and Scotland) good-bye. And all for sake of Conservative Party internal politics.
Anyway, Dave's off to the World Bank, or Merrill Lynch or American Tobacco soon, so why should he care?
Welcome to Jeremy Clarkson's brave new world.

Thankfully, they outnumber the sheep who are prepared to follow whatever the Commission tells them to do and pay through the nose for it.

+1

This has been building for years and brought to a head by the inept Remain message. Surely if you want people to vote for you then it is a good idea to talk about future benefits. Amazed they could have got the message so wrong.

Government by petition? An interesting concept.

A very old concept, for the citizen to bring a petition to the government of the day. Of course it is up to the government to decide whether to act on it or not. Mind you petitions signed by 5% of the population are rare so perhaps some attention should be paid

There are already rules on petitions. anything over 100000 signatures and parliament has to consider. Whether it does anything about it is another matter.
