A subject on which the country is split, with no clear objective reasons for going or staying.
The only thing that it has done is split the country, poisoned political conversation and given our most undesirable sections of the population the opportunity to harry those they consider "different".
Least said soonest mended - but I fear Leavers will join Stayers fairly soon in complaint - not, of course, about their voting decision.

A frightened, divided, resentful country with no clear idea of what to do, led by incompetents who consider it's their unalienable right to be on top of the dunghill.
(And I'm not just referring to the PLP).

I voted out for many reasons. I do not live in the UK and have not lived there for the last 13 years. However I was / am disgusted with all the IMMIGRANTS pouring into the UK and getting benefits. I am disgusted that the UK pays 350,000,00 sterling every WEEK to the EU coffers. I am disgusted that the beaurocrats (spelling) in Brussels can and do change our Laws and policy making. I am disgusted that they the people in Brussels want to take charge of our armed forces.

That will do for now.

I presume you are also pleased about the dramatic rise in racist attacks in the UK on the back of the brexit vote and xenophobic and racist propaganda used to engineer the vote

Because you don't agree with his extreme viewpoint doesn't make it "stupidity", many do agree with him as indicated by the recent events. Living much of my time in Europe, I have mixed views.

I too am fed up with uncontrolled immigration and the inability to rid ourselves of undesirables. Some immigrants cost us a fortune in housing and benefits. I have personal knowledge of people over here renting out their houses, arriving in England, claiming poverty and being housed and given benefits. OK they are in a minority but it all adds up and for some reason this great European organisation keeps encouraging more to arrive. OTOH most immigrants over the years have contributed much to the country and we would be stuck without them.

His every argument has already been debunked (£350K, ....). To keep repeating it, is stupidity.
The fact that many agree with his extreme viewpoint only proves that there are many stupid people out there.

More than that. If you look at the parts of the country that recorded the highest leave votes you can see it was a combination of factors. Decimation of local industry (coal, steel, fishing etc - the last due directly to EU policies) and rapid influx migrants. Over 10% of local populations in some areas from zero 10 years ago.

Nationally 75% of the increase in primary school intake this year is children from families where the main language is not English, and nearly 30% of the primary school population does not have English as first language, 22% in secondary schools. These figures are not equal across the country, but concentrated in the areas that voted leave. It is difficult for us who live in areas with low migrant populations and not dependent on industries with low labour costs to appreciate the problems large chunks of our population is experiencing.

Whether Brexit will actually solve these problems is, of course still unknown, but at least the issues are out in the open now.
