Bought another boat.

Looking amazing! Need more photos…..2 is poor given the timeframe between posts!
Just a few more to tease you......

The outside is a bit two tone now. Where I have sanded and polished it is very white, elsewhere a bit beige. It's going to need a lot of sandpaper.......

It's tricky to get a picture of the bedroom floor. Took me all day to do the bedroom carpet. Absolutely back breaking. Everything is at the wrong working height and everything funny shapes. I made templates from brown paper first, then cut the carpet slightly oversize, then try it out. It is nine different pieces. Fortunately when I did the port side the templates could then be flipped over and tweaked a bit to make the starboard side sections.

In comparison the saloon and galley took about 4 hours. I will probably do the galley floor in some sort of synthetic/EVA teak effect but there was a big bit of carpet left so I thought why not for now. I will get the big piece of carpet at the end of the bed bound at some point. There is a hatch underneath it so it is not fixed down.

Cracking job!

I can imagine how difficult the carpet in the cabin must have been but it looks great and well worth the effort.

I’ll be honest.... I would have serviced the engine before I laid the carpet.....but that’s just me🤔🤷‍♂️

No….you would have procrastinated for many months….then done that. Me and Mr K are from the same thoroughbred stable…get on with it first…ask questions later

The engines are right at the back under the cockpit so no need to go inside other than to turn on the ignition. However I do have a big protective floor mat that goes over the carpet from patio doors to the helm that was rolled up in the garage.

Been back on board today - the shrink/vacuum wrapped memory foam mattress is now hopefully expanding. I'm not normally a memory foam fan, so we will give it a try. If I dont like it I can turn it upside down.

What I find is that every time I use a protective roll of plastic...is that each time I unroll it the wrong way...so all the contaminates from the previous job goes on the surface I’m trying to protect

Spray paint / badly scratch the up side.

Then it always goes down on the same side.

My next project is converting the bathroom from a wet room (which I hate) into a shower.....just got to measure up to see if there is room

It’s a simple concept that will not cost a lot...but will be extremely difficult if not impossible. I think about it all the time after I’ve had a shower....and had to clean the entire bathroom after.
I’ll keep an eye out for your thread on it in 2027 👍👍

A few more pics for now.......

New foam mattress has now fully expanded. Removed the zip on cover first then just cut it approximately today. Will let it relax/expand a bit more before final trim and refitting the modified cover. Need to get the sewing machine out again.

The galley is pretty much finished now with no clutter:

Sofa bed in bits. Impossible to find one that would actually fit. So bought one in the sale from Jysk. I am currently modifying the arms. The chaise long section will be modified to fit the step/wall correctly. It should be pretty easy as it is all held together with staples.

I changed the hatch in the saloon floor from a very rounded square with a tatty aluminium edging to a full square a while back. This is it now carpeted etc. To cover it and fit all the edges tight etc took about two hours. I think it looks more modern and clean.
