I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but the boat names I dislike most are those made up from the owners names, or their children ............ sorry.

Are there any you dislike ?

When my farther got the 34ft, it was called LIBBYRATED. ..... we were glad when he wanted to keep the name, /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Yeah, especially those boats owned by blokes who are so henpecked/downtrodden/desperate for sex that they feel obliged to name their boats after their wives

Oooh, I bet he named his boat after a Princess, an excellent way of demonstrating his patriotism, not his SWMBO.
Got out of that one, did'nt I?

I knew a bloke that named his boat after his wife. Problem is he split with her but still refused to rename the boat. I can remember his new girlfriend saying "I'll show him what bad luck is".

Both our boats were second hand so already named but they turned out to be totaly appropriate for the boats. First was RatBag and it was a total Rat Bag, never bloody started and gave us all sorts of grief, current boat is called Bacchus and out consumption of wine while aboard has rocketed beyond belief (saying nothing about the debauchery (sp??).

The moral of the story is never buy a boat with a name like 'Ship Wrecked' or 'Bottoms Up'

I agree there are some realy naff names out there, could name a few from Ocean Village but I think a few of the owners may watch the forum so I shall not bother!

You are soo trying to get me into trouble!!

On another note, where is good for a quick meal before a mad clubbnig session in Brighton? I am coming over with some mates for a birthday bash in January and was gonna grab some food over there. If you fancy a boogie come along!

As for the boat names.....well I hate the ones that gloat about how much the boat cost, I remember seeing a boat called loadsamoney a few years ago, not good! I like Bacchus as a name I just with the lettering was a little smaller on mine, but hey!

My partner and I brought a yacht which had no name on it. But was registered as 'Aquarius'. When was to it over we were discussing the name should we keep it or change it. She happened to say jokingly what about using her name. I was on the jetty at the time looking at the hull when I saw fantly 'her' name what had been removed at sometime.
