They do indeed do very well out of these scams. Sometimes, if operating from the UK, they get caught - but not often. One Nigerian chappie who was caught was a Mr Benye. The High Court judgment reads:

I was paying £780 pa for 7.3m/24' on a drying pontoon at Newhaven (power and water free), now a wee bit more on the Mudway for the same. No port dues for Newhaven, £47 pa for the Mudway.
Try Makefast - I got a couple of bits from them last year, but remember that their min order and postage charges were a bit high. Seascrew sell a few of their bits, I think, so worth a call to Seascrew to see if they can get them for you more cheaply if you have the parts numbers.
