Go to your local Chemist and buy a tub of Oxalic Acid, this is what all the proprietory cleaners have which is the element that does the job but much cheaper from the local chemist. You just mix with water and scrub into teak, then wash off. My boat spent 4 1/2 months under water, came up did...
Has anyone out there any experience of these unstayed cat rig yachts. How good is the carbon fibre mast, I have never heard of one of these breaking on a Freedom but what is life expectancy. Also how do these boats handle/sail. Any info greatly appreciated.
Yes, my Queen Bee is now being offered by Boatwrecks.com
at 28ft shes about the right size and has had loads of work already done i.e. new deck etc. She could be worth a look.
Yes, Classic Boat did a survey/ long term trial and Sikkens Filter 7 came out very well. I at the time was restoring Hilary Joyce (see: Missing Yacht) I used Perfection on the cover boards of my deck and cockpit and it was poor in that water soon got underneath it, meanwhile the mast and boom...
Hi, Thats interesting that although a larger yacht but certainly not some vessel under power was capable of that. My boat was found on the bottom by its mooring but the riding chain ( rope ) was no longer attached. The mooring is alongside a mud bank, not too close as I have about 4m at low. I...
Some of you, with distant memory recall, may remember my yacht "Hilary Joyce" which went missing in November, was found sitting on the bottom by Hants Marine Police in December. Well at last she was raised by those very nice divers at Seatech on Tuesday and towed around to Port Solent. I wont go...

A & B bleach is in my opinion better on wood. Paint on the A, allow to soak in then apply the B, there will now be a slight chemical reaction and the black stains will come out. Oxalic is good for making Teak look like new but dosen't go so deep. My mast was black top to toe, liberal use of A &...
It will be interesting to see how my deck has fared, (see missing yacht ) I renewed the decks as part of her restoration and I laid teak onto Bruzeel ply (RNLI rated ) but I was very lucky in that in the months before I encountered two boat builders from highly reputable firms. The one piece of...
Just before Xmas ( remember that) I posted a help note to find my missing yacht. Actually first note was probably Nov. Well some very helpful guys from the Hampshire Marine Unit noticed a blip on their sonar, a few days later with better weather they encountered a Navy Diving Unit on exercise...

Re: ajc \'s missing yacht
I would be extremely grateful for that. I cannot make it this weekend or maybe Sunday if I work hard on Friday & Saturday!! Gosport Marine Police called me yesterday to say they were going to give the harbour a good seeing to & I understand they ( the crew of the...
