Hello forumites...
I write this some time after finishing the ARC I know but have been so busy I havent had time...
The ARC was incredible and the most amazing experience. I cant believe I have done it and I still havent even been sailing for a year!
Too much happened to write it all down but we experienced everything from no wind to 40kts+ and thunderstorms for 4 days!
The feeling of arriving in Rodney Bay was overwhelming and I had a few tears I am not afraid to admit!
I made some amazing friends, including a Danish couple called Gitte and Peter who are circumnavigating on their Oceanis 411 called Herdis. They invited us to spend Christmas with them and we sailed to Tobago on the 20th Dec and had the best Christmas ever. We anchored in Pirate Bay in Charlotteville and it was like paradise with Pelicans and Parrots flying over the boat all day.
Plans are already being made for the ARC this year as I cant wait to it again and we are also flying out to the Caribbean in April to do Antigua week and spend time on Herdis again possible in Cuba.
All I can say is if you get the chance to do the ARC - GRAB IT!
Am back in UK for 3 days now before heading off to Indonesia for a while but am still squeezing some sailing in with a day on the Solent tommorow. I am going to freeze!! Back in time for the last day of the boat show though where I hope to put get my first boat...feel like a big kid am so excited!
So goodbye for now and its been great catching up on all the postings I have missed out on!
