I don't know what gear boxes are in my P415 but never had any trouble with them. I've had boats with stern drives but they have higher maintenance costs IMHO. Prefer shafts.
OG, could you not get a bigger mooring, could do you a good deal lol.......
Boats are very subjective, each to their own.

Depending on engines, you will have , Irm zf220 on 61a motor or mg 506 on earlier 60c motors.

Twin disc mg506 on cummins 6bt 250" a great match for this boat, a true 30 knot boat with lazy legs, and I bet mr latestarter off here can soon chip em up to 300hp without you much aggro.

Cummins Diesel (Distributor) did a specific conversion for Princess, removed the JWAC (Jacket Water After Cooler) and replaced it with Bowman seawater after-cooler called the low-line engine, helped Princess package the larger engine. If vessel has a low-line set up simply a pump calibration and inch of pitch off the prop, easy peasy.

Thanks for all you have chipped in, emailed for engine hours and serial numbers.
Also contacted a couple of transport companies for bringing back to UK......and before anybody suggests it OG is not the least bit interested in bringing it back by sea.
Anything less than a guaranteed F1 moderating and the scary possibility of not being able to actually see a nice reassuring mud bank in the immediate vicinity rules out this voyage.:)
