Small Rib

just had a look at that one and I reckon that's a nice little rig. That would fly and certainly pull a light adult on a mono or a duffer on two. Personally I wouldn't get stressy about 20 vs 25 as the rating is more to do with transom weight and the 20 and 25 are the same animal.

Have been looking for a battery box for 50cm long battery but can't find one...

Haven't used them but they said making bespoke battery boxes is just their bag. May be pricey - but don't suppose that will worry you. Let us know how it goes.

OOh lots of peeps to answer....

gjgm - 280 Airdeck is great, I have an 8hp L/S on it at the moment which is rubbish - keeping my eyes peeled for a 9.9 or 15 Short shaft - will then update you on whether or not it is pokey enough to pull a skiier.. Of course if I get a 15, then pretty soon the case may read 9.9.... after all that's how I bought it m'lud, how was I too know it was too powerful for the boat!

Wiggo - I may go have a look at the Caribe as it certainly seems ideal, however we will certainly have to tow behind boat not put on bow of main boat as far too big for that.

Really interesting comment that you can use a 3m rib with a 15 to ski off - that surprises me - what kind of speed do you get.

We want to pull twin ski's donughts, wake and knee boarders - don't care about mono-ski as none of us can do that anyhow!

Only just seen this thread.

I like the way the whole Fairline is tilting to starboard just with the weight of that Yammie

Tee hee. Actually the RIB/yammie combo is perfectly balanced, being offset to port, which leaves the swim platform free on the stbd side. It must be balanced cos it dangles from the crane.

Same Rib - different boat - different mounting system

The Rib is normally kept up top but I've also arranged it so that the chocks can be moved to the bathing platform.

And this shot clearly shows the hull shape and why it sticks to the corners like glue - Fab dinghy/engine combination.

You've got a shortish front lifting strop though Hurricane, so your boat is hanging at an angle. I adjusted mine a bit longer, so the boat hangs level

Having used it a couple of months, I'm really pleased with the WB Genesis, btw. So glad I got that one - definitely the right choice. Thanks for your info/research on it - was much easier just to copy you than figure it out from scratch. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And of course the Yam 40 whisk is a super machine. Fab combination, as you say

The pics were when Princess were fitting out the chocks etc - part of the deal was that they also provided the straps - those in the photos were only temp ones that they were using to get the sizes correct - the actual ones hang much better.

BTW - the person to really thank for the Walker Bay is Timbad from this forum. He found the boat in the corner of an exhibition stand at one of the LIBS. He immediatly saw it as an interesting dinghy and knew that I was looking for something like that - well spotted Tim.

Ah ok. And thanks Timbad. The only info I've ever seen on the WB Genesis is on this forum. They don't seem to advertise, even though it's a very good product. When I found a WB dealer to order mine from he said he's never sold one before, didn't have any brochures for it, etc. Anyway, thanks for finding it Timbad!
