Scotland can go sailing on 28th May?

You are obliged not to leave home without a reasonable excuse, and I believe that the courts would take account of guidelines and advice when deciding what was reasonable. So, the question you have to ask yourself is "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do yah ... old chap?
Agreed but phase 1 there is no reasonable excuse any more only guidelines , the courts also need to take into consideration the humans Rights act, disability act, Age discrimination act, etc which are in legislation and not a guildline, we can argue guidelines all we want, no one will be prosecuted by them as the Proc. fiscal and any criminal act must have beyond reasonable doubt,. this fear of going to court is nonsense and it will never happen , in regards to a prosecution for a guideline,
The courts will take in many circumstances out with a government saying it is a guildline and I have quoted in this thread Ms Sturgeons exact words that say, it is not an enforceable guideline, my Post 37 , I saw it I heard it and the BBC have a recording of it , So that will be my evidence
So how would a Sheriff take that statement ,

The only ones I do truly feel sorry for are those cooped up in tenements or high rises and I certainly wouldnt begrudge them a wee breaking of the rules but as I said theres plenty close by they can do.

So lets see then the highest number of virus infections in Scotland , is Glasgow and you are restricting the Glaswegians to 5 miles so the population have to be restricted to a small area with the biggest population in the country,
Makes perfect sense to me
Yes lets keep the poor all together and let them suffer .
Also you mentioned some areas which I have the pleasure of going to and I Can assure you they are busier than Buchanan street on a Saturday, yup lets keep those that need the most locked up the longest truly a great natiion we live in , we talk on here about the me me me and boats , yet all I see is my wee space my we space my we space keep away

Clarification as always and for my court appearance I wonder if I will win, and also if we are taking the moral high ground it is about spreading a virus , But I do not have the virus so how can I spread it, the Risk is to me catching the Virus not spreading it , so the risk is mine,
Clear hygiene instructions are given and the chances of catching the virus are nil ,
The Scottish medical officer state that you can catch it outside if you are less than 2 metres from someone and 15 mins beside them so do not do this
When touching a keypad wash your hands right away NO VIRUS
When using a trolley , Wash your hands right away NO VIRUS
This is virus is not in the air it is not spreading about like black death , common sense and good hygiene or this country will never get out of lockdown and we will all sit in our houses and die of old age , not me I have to much to live for and intend to go sailing , catch me if you can
She said :the government did not intend to set a five-mile limit on the distance that people could travel to do things like meeting their parents in a garden.

Ms Sturgeon said that people travelling for recreation were being asked to stay "fairly local".

"Five miles isn't going to be a strict limit, but is intended to give you a guide because what we don't want in this phase is for people to congregate at tourist hotspots,"
Scots urged to 'stick with' lockdown rules for now

I'm hearing that they believe cities have already achieved herd immunity levels, which is great news if it is true. The means that Glaswegians are the safest people to hang around with. Not a sentence you'll hear often. ;)

We won't know until they get the antibody tests going though.

I guess anywhere that has had it bad will be the first to reach herd immunity.

Yes they could be but at what price? Some believe that to reach herd immunity the amount of deaths and damage to humans is unacceptable in our society. What is hoped will happen is that the virus will not have any hosts to spread to because the number of infected people is now low, hence the continued approach to restrictions but easing them through the road map. As the road map is followed, we should see the metrics cintinue to drop. It is possible that the infection rate can climb again in communities. I thought all of this was communicated from government feedback.

Have you been to any of the poorer areas of Glasgow during this?

I have, its frightening, nobody is respecting the rules. Ok so maybe not nobody as those with serious medical issues are obviously taking it seriously but everyone else... no chance, hence the higher infection rates. My wife has banned me from going to Thornliebank due to the lack of distancing and basic steps, even, my brother, in Castelmilk, was having a street party last week with folk going in and out of each others houses, I was in a shop in Carnwadric and overheard a lad on a phone arranging booze for his pals house party, one of the young lads at my work who lives in Toryglen has been getting his hair cut at the barbers house, goes out for drives to meet up with mates from all over the city in a different house each week. Even those who, at the start, were observing the rules partly gave up after week 2.

Re this distance thing that you are still arguing about.

The events of the last couple of days have led me now to the decision I am going to apply the Dominic Cummings interpretation of travel.

We are set for slipway launch on Saturday. Weather looks good for it. Me and SWMBO will be attending as we are allowed to be in close proximity for raising the mast.

How's your eyesight?

This virus will never go away , unless 2 measures are reached
1. a vaccine comes into play
2. you allow restrictions to lift protect care homes and those vulnerable and let the rest get herd immunity

No child has died of this
57% wee in care homes
75% were over 75
less that 1% of all deaths had no medical health condition. Diabetes being the main killer related to OBESITY

So the numbers game
These numbers are from the 20th May
1623 in care homes
1664 hospital
225 home
4 other s

total 3516
75 % over 75 = 2637
left 879 people 1% no condition = 9 people

9 people with no health condition not over 75 , more people die of the flu virus than 9 people
We have closed down a whole country for 9 people .
i Appreciate a lot on here are in the vulnerable bracket , especially age , but this dis proportionally has affected the working age , the Young and the fit and healthy .
57% died in care homes take that figure out
1893 people in the community, but this figure is off because people from care homes would have been taken to hospital and died in Hospital so the care home figure will be higher ,
So what have we learned, this virus affects the sick the elderly the most,
This virus spreads through care homes and hospitals ,
This virus does not seem to spread through a community if social distancing is applied hence the numbers are falling every week
The R number is wrong , you cannot take an infection rate of R= 1.7 in care homes and an R of 0.3 in the community and get the mean and say it is 0,7
Care homes are unique and should be dealt with differently from the wider society

I know the number s games do not convince people on here but they will listen to the scientists given you the numbers game
I personally believe that Ms S got it wrong on care homes she listened to Sage advice , who got it wrong, by saying care homes were not an issue and she has felt those deaths and is now trying to keep Scotland safe,
I commend her for her actions but we cannot go on like this or we face the bleakest next few years which will again dis proportionally affect the poor and the young,
Again I come back to the forums demographics , age , and wealth . this attitude of I am alright jack in my opinion is wrong and selfish #
Coronavirus in Scotland: Who is dying and where?

Caveat , the figure for no conditions is put at 1% the true figure is slightly less or slightly more I gave 1% to allow for disparities

For the paranoid parent

Let us be clear I have a 9 year with Autism which seems to be an issue for children and covid
A wife with a part of the right lung Missing
Me with a multiple facet immune disease that affects every organ in my body including the Brain with Autism and potentially OCD which I am still awaiting my assessment , thanks to covid

I have to say the panic and fear that this virus has started is worrying , it is like the War of the Worlds on the Radio away back in the day and people actually though it was happening .
Simple safe precautions , it is only a little bitty virus , it washes off your hands with basic soap and water and cannot get into you body unless you put it there yourself ,
Wash your hands!!
Im done here I feel like preacher telling you all god is coming and you all throw cabbages ?
Facts and truths drive me but also drives me nuts

So, to keep from having to look through pages of bumf, can a person sail a singlehander within 5 miles of their home, in Scotland, this weekend?

Yes there is no LAW to say otherwise, it is a recommendation and you are using common sense , not sailing with anyone outwith your family and keeping social distancing . which are the Law
You might face the wrath of Public opinion but if you can handle that and turn of your AIS you will be fine ,
