Each fuel station has their own rules so quoting regs at them won’t be productive.

YOU said it was illegal - that’s different from company policy!

Multiple regs and guidance are relevant to this issue.

The clue is in the name - it consolidates all the various bits and pieces legislation into one set of regulations!

Edit: in that link, demountable plastic boat tanks are included by the look of it?

Yes but the legislation is constructed in such a way that the size limits applied to standard plastic containers don’t apply to demountable fuel tanks.

If OP can carry a single 30l demountable tank then great. Otherwise what I said stands so where’s the issue? I already said it isn’t always enforced and he does need to be aware of it as it could be an issue. Not really sure what you think you’re adding to the conversation with this aggressive tack.
