Torchy the battery boy?!

Hm. I think you are getting confused with Ron Davies, who has denied everything, and resigned. Otherwise, pls explain torchy the battery boy. None of us were allowed to watch the dreadful ITV channels, you see.

Re: Torchy the battery boy?!

Not to worry. I spect Clatymore will have excellent notes for us to copy off in exchange for three chips and a swig of dandelion and burdock

Re: Bert Weedon

I'm pleased i'm not the only one. It takes expert instruction to twang your wire like that. Now i've got loads of guitars & I'm still crap at playing them. But I'm happy.

Torchy Torchy the Battery Boy
He's a walkie talkie toy,
With Bright Blue Eyes and Golden Hair
He's a magic beam that can shine anywhere.

Then it was Roast Beef and Yorkshire Puds.

Why oh why did I wed a veggie?

Re: Uncle Mac

Uncle Mac as in Childrens Favourites?
Speed Bonny Boat and Billy Goat Gruff, The good ship lollipop, How much is that doggie in the window?
Frankie Howerd and the 3 iddle fishies and a mama fishie too and Sinatra singing High Hopes.
Why wouldn't Uncle Mac be in black and white - and anyway - if he was on the radio, how come you could tell what colours he was wearing?

Re: High Hopes

Did frank sing high hopes? Or wasn't it perry como?

Either way, as I overheard one pig saying to another, i didn't much fancy the idea of carrying moonbeams home in a jar.

Perry Como

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket.
Anyway - lets move on - My old Dad used to sing me to sleep with a disturbing version of Donald Peers 'In a shady nook'

Re: Uncle Mac

Don't knock it. the guy that wrote How Much is that Doggie wrote it for his wife (Lita Rosa) remember her?. Jimmie, thats his name, is one of my customers, father in law, & he's still going strong. I often talk to him. The last time I know that he played was at the Buck House concerts last year to celebrate the jubilee. If I'm as fit as he is at his age I'll be doing well. That doggy must be keeping him fit.

Because Radio Luxemburg was in black and white

It was Dick Barton .... Do you remember twiddling the knob to tune the cat's whisker?
