I normally like Garmin products, but at £800 i wouldn't want to recommend this AIS. It only support N2K and doesn't come with an external GPS.

I agree it's a lot of money, but note that it does have NMEA0183 connectivity as well.

If I were to buy a transceiver, I'd go for the em-trak.
