Just seen that…maybe tomorrow afternoon then??

Seacock….please man…..give it rest. I’ve done a lot of work and I’m excited to get afloat as soon as possible.

Ignore him, he's jealous!

The benefits of heavy rain is you can identify leaks on the boat whilst you are ashore! I've been on top of the lean to with a roof seal gun a few times today! ? Slowly getting there one by one!

Went a bit mad on the grease but you can’t have too much!
I have heard of too much grease being an issue as it can solidify and make getting the props off difficult. Might be an old wives take but thought I would mention it. When we had outdrives a modest coat of waterproof grease seemed to do the trick.

got a few more things to do though!
polish the beaching legs (that will be fun!), remove this crappy red el.tape. and replace the foam thingies on the hull touching brackets.
I didn’t even notice the beaching legs?

Great progress G, have you mentioned before about the wet sand process, as in grades/grit of the paper etc?
Hi Big Mac

That’s very straightforward……800 grit on GRP. It’s only to remove oxidation and knock the top of the highs of the freshly painted lines. I used single pack paint so that’s more than enough grit. Follow that with a heavy cut compound then a polish. Job done

Hi MrG - Congratulations on your excellent work - this is the most interesting thread I have ever seen on this forum - I admire your perseverance, and I appreciate all the time you must have spent recording and writing-up your work, just for us lot to read, on top of actually doing the real work. Thanks. Super job. J.

Yes ! . . but right now I am considering buying a younger boat - likely to be a Windy 31 Tornado or a Sunseeker Portofino 32 - both lovely boats - should be settled in next 2 weeks.
If you do consider buying MrG’s boat...as an extra incentive, I’m willing to split my commission with you

Who knows!. I can afford to fuel this one so that’s making it lean towards keep and use a little bit. It’s also on the west side of IOM so might do a few trips to Northern Ireland. She’ll do 50 knots too so that should be fun

Currently has suspension helm seats but they are a bit naff

Did have a look at these those as a replacement….

Hi MrG - please can you provide a link to those suspension helm seats ? J.
