I am on my second round of expansion tank cleaning and having gone with the oxalic acid solution this time have to admit this looks like the quickest / most effective way. It is not instant acting but overall very effective.

About another 2 days work snagging then a big cleanup and polish and she’ll be ready for trails!

Just found this photo , of mr Google sea trialing the boat.

The boat is currently in Southern most Wales. Lorry tomorrow as weather has been naff for going round the corner.

New owner gave it a good go but tall order (IOM to Solent) in a race boat with extra cushions

To round out this thread…..XCESS can now be found zooming around the South Coast with her very happy new owner.

It’s really satisfying to put in all that work and effort and to see her in use again….plus……it’s a stunning boat even 27 years on! Well worth the hours put in. Thanks to everyone for comments and support as this build went along.

I’ll try to come back with a new project soon!
