Well the day has almost arrived as we should be launching our first boat at Brighton marina tomorrow morning.

Without wishing to sound over the top I do admit to being a bit superstitious and wandered if there is any ritual or " must be done " actions tomorrow as I have never been through this and I am not quite sure what to expect of the day,

many thanks

Drink champagne. Don't waste any tipping it on the boat.

Keep the cork and cross it with silver (10p in my case, rammed into a split in the cork)

That is then your good luck charm.

Do enjoy your day very exciting :)

The polynesians used to launch a new war canoe using the bodies of maidens as rollers, to ensure a successful career (for the boat, that is).

I suspect that maidens will be in short supply in Brighton.

Do enjoy the day and post some piccies !
