Perhaps not since cats always land the right way up due to their righting reflex.
I do believe that my cat is more stable upside down. It isn't something I have yet tried, nor wish to.
Years ago (before internet and photoshop, etc) the builders offered a new boat to anyone who could provide a picture of their 'standard' boat with a hull flying. The only thing that I achieved was sideways acceleration as the hulls lost grip. Took awhile to put stuff back into lockers !

I'd like to thank all who replied and took part in this most helpful for me exchange of ideas and opinions. Bottom line is I am now convinced that a junk rigged boat is my best option and will devote my plummeting time and efforts to finding a suitable "junkie" as soon as I can.
