What are you then? The forum's Happiness Fairy?

And do tell me why I should have to leave the country I was born in, and in whose armed forces I served loyally for 12 years, merely because it has (temporarily, I hope and expect) fallen into the hands of idiots.

There, make me happy and report that.
I have never reported anyone for anything, not my style.( although I believe you have)

You are the one that's complaining, I'm just reacting to you moaning.

You can always put me on ignore.

You believe I have reported someone. When, whom, and for what exactly?

Moaning? Is pointing out stupidity by a country's leaders moaning? I should have thought it a public duty to draw attention to it. 😇

I could indeed put you on ignore but why, when there are so few like you left, should I deprive myself of a bit of harmless fun?

Because it was part of the withdrawal agreement with the UK. The UK didn't ask for the exemption so it wasn't offered.
From what was said on various RYA calls at the time, a deal was offered by the EU to allow 6 months free movement if the UK reciprocated and the UK rejected it. So both parties ended up with the default.

Can't for the life of me find a link though.

Perhaps it was done for the best of motives.

To bring back those halcyon days when British holidaymakers were content to take their annual holidays in dear old Great Britain. The days when working folk knew their place and had no desire to go gadding off to foreign places; wasting money that should by rights be kept in this country.

Then they were happy eating good old British fish & chips, instead of filthy foreign muck reeking of garlic. And a pint of warm beer was preferable to poncy wine.

Arise ye loyal Brits, cancel your holidays on the Costa del Sol and instead rediscover the forgotten delights of Blackpool or East Jaywick!

You mock the working class but they have rewarded this government time after time after time

There was never any offer by the EU of the UKs generous reciprocity .That’s just a myth .
Each defaulted to there own rules .U.K. allows 3 P s to stay 180 , EU miserly gives 90/180 in comparison.
This works splendidly for the greater of the two economies, whereby the weaker ( EU ) sends migrant workers to support the U.K.

As it stands now ( this article K ) it’s wasn’t rejected on principle, the FR Senator’s are in favour of changing there 90/180 to 180/360 , it failed this time on a technicality because it was presented in the wrong law .It’s Authors are planning to re present it separately .

As Bill skip righty said ^ “ minor hiccup “

The will and momentum is there now .

After all the FR only think for themselves and it’s there economy that’s gonna benefit from moving Brits to 180/360 .
2012 there were 70000 Brit residence secondaire s now 40000 .

But the Elephant in the corner is in 2025 the withdrawal agreement is up / ended and ALL the fishing returns to the U.K. .

Uk gov is independently working as you read this working on solving the 90/180 thingy = converting the whole EU to reciprocity .Watch this space .

Its a race .
The FR ( due to local economic reasons ) against London laying down suggestions after 2025 if the EU want fish ( arguably beefed up defence - another debate ) going Fwds .

Money talks …..EU will crack or do without fish and start introducing Russian to the schools curriculum 😂

Mme Berthart ( the haute Savoie senator) who initially tabled it reckons very soon .It not exactly the same” bill ” but I get what you mean .It will be a stand alone bit of legislation free from technicality that might derail .

Every one ( well the overwhelming maj ) of FR legislators are up for it .

Money talks … always has .

As I said a race .If the FR have sorted it internally , it won’t be raised so much when discussing the FISH next yr .Or signal the green light for the wider EU .
The FR coming out as champions, leaders .WIN WIN for the French …nowt new there .

Thx for the heads up . I am a past victim of his reporting to the mods .Contradicting post #122 .

Having said this he’s not unique on here for dobbing me in .
You are a liar.

The only circumstances I would ever consider reporting anyone is if they posted something racist or grossly sexually offensive.

Would you have have posted anything like that?

I'm in no hurry to see it happen, but it's been quite amusing listening to people scrabble around to find a workaround. IMPO it's pissing in the wind.

Those who keep their heads up their backsides and only take them out to read the Daily Mail won't have noticed any difference.
Most people just get on with their lives…they are not hiding from the truth…they are just doing what they always have done…work and raise a family. They are not hiding from reality…their lives are reality

Yes, it's all going to be fine.

Tell you what, let's all have a nice cup of tea and listen to Vera Lynn on the wireless.
