Learner\'s New Boat

Right, thats it, Ive had enough. In spite of all the friendly help and assistance he's had from mobochat, not to mention tcm's forthright opinions aboout his swmbo and cutey telling him to
p*ss or get off the pot, Learner has still not managed to get his foot on the first rung of the boatowning ladder.
So.......I figure the time has come for us to take matters into our own hands and suggest we have a whip round to buy him a boat........
I have been trawling the market and think I have finally found something suitable - even the name is highly appropriate to his known predilection for spreadsheets and, although a simple little vessel, it has all the fundamental bits that will let him get on with improving his knowledge levels without keep popping up here every night with yet another boring idea for fundamental analysis.
The colour should be acceptable to swmbo and theres a little cabin for her to shelter in and knit while he finds out what the other bits do. There was no burgee staff so I've stuck one on for him but I doubt that hlb will want to donate the flag....he'll have to pay for that himself.
If you agree that this is the best way for us to resolve this ongoing saga I suggest those who want to see an end to it send me a small donation of 1/nth of the cost where n= number of peeps seeking relief..........
Ive had a hard time sorting out surveyors and bashing brokers to get a better deal but Ive finally managed it and you can see the boat BoatsOnTheWeb Photo Gallery

Re: Learner\'s New Boat

Cheaky bugger has already bought a flag. I thought the boat buying was imminant at the time. Think in all fairness he should send it back. Like the new boat Tony. Especialy the flag pole and discriptive lables. That should be just right for him.

Brilliant

Actually ,, it's quite acceptable BUT

1) Does it have AC?
2) Yamaha shaftdrives ( I think not)?
3) Draft Guinness pump?
4) New friends to talk to !!!

Problem is all accesories collected from chandlers , includes snappy thingies , now know only used on yottie thingies. Also tiller autopilot has questionable uses I now know ...

Other source ofconcern EPIRBs and Flares approaching use-by-dates at rate I'mgoing

Haydn

Surely this PROVES Learner is really Steve101 - all this extra stuff he wants to put on his boat before he's got it as well as marking imaginary chain

Re: My New Boat

Dont wonder you have trouble with brokers. Asking to many fool questions. No wonder they hang up, go away, not in.
Just ask Tony if it's wind up or Battery powered. Then get the bugger bought.

Re: Learner\'s New Boat

Dear B1,

Following your kind offer, and appreciating that you have my bestintrests at heart AND that you are not the kind of person to take the p*ss out of the inexperienced , you being a Big time old Merchantman sea-salt as I read in yesterday's post.

Subject to survey I would like to accept the boat at full asking price subject to finance and survey. Deposit in post.

P.S. Is boat Vol*o rubber-band or clockwork - powered?

Not You Too!

Colin - I expected a little emapthy / sympathy from you. Unlike these pure MoBo types. He** , you know what they think of the crummy 'Englander'...

P.S. Do you think you could change her name? Doesn't work for me !!

Re: Not You Too!

Dont start having a go at my mates boat. It has got two big engines. So that will do for me. Anyway Englander is a fine name. What would you suggest. Waleser Welsher or Scotterer.
Go get a boat, then we can all laugh.

I could change her name of course, but I won't! Thats the name she was built with and part 1 registered, so thats it I'm afraid, plus I happen to like it, a certain notoriety, especially being owned by a Scot!
