What a great delivery trip - enjoy!
We left at 15:00 and got to Heusden at 19:00 for a distance of 53km. Average about 15km/h sog. What distance did you manage today? And, how’s the boat running?
Most of the way here was unrestricted but 13 to 15km/h is comfortable especially as the Maas is very high just now. It knocked off a few km/h going against the current l. In Holland’s deep there is not much flow so we were in convoy with the big freight boats keeping one eye astern and one ahead so we did not get run down. Once in the old Mass we were pretty much on our own. Will you get a chance of any high speed running? Inland waterways so maybe not.

Made it to Veghel, being the awkward person I am I moored stern to when everyone else is bow to beautiful town, and tomorrow the Americans are coming in convoy for the 80th anniversary of Operation Madket Garden, thdd we whole town is covered in Dutch, American and Union Flags, most of the houses in the town centre have Airborne Screaming Eagles hanging out the windows. So we decided to spend a bit of time here and see the convoy, which left Leopoldsburg yesterday on it’s way to Arnhem.Loving the whole story. Lovely boat. Keep us updated on progress
It ran dry, only caught it when the temp went up and the water pressure went down, I had been informed that tat gauge was for the gearbox but it is for the coolant water pressure it seems, sits between 3 and 4 bar when running normal.Do you not have a strainer basket to protect the impeller?
