That was my point, maybe it wasn't clear. 5L/hour, sure. But how fast will he go for that burn? Hull speed for the broom is probably no more than 7kts.
With a waterline length of 10.5m?

If you do Greg, just be aware there’s a queue 😀😀😀
The second one we looked at was snapped up mighty quick after we looked at her, she was sold less than a week later.

ok, going through the videos I took while at the helm
1500rpm gives 9.5knots sog that looks a bit better than what I was thinking earlier
Testrun1.jpg

It is still around 1knot faster than what seamaster30's graph says though.

I’m not sure what I’m looking for actually exists here in the UK. I would want one that’s been well cared for and been re-engined. The only one I can recall with replacement engines is the one with Nanni 200s mentioned on here and I think that was in Belgium or the Netherlands.

There is one coming up for sale shortly with Yanmar engines

So, this morning after fitting the AIS and tidying up some of the cables etc and finding that the port VHF antenna was not connected to anything, the cable just coiled under the instrument panel on the upper helm, a quick PL259 later and all is working with the AIS, all it needs is the MMSI and ATIS codes.
Checking the searchlight there is no power going to it so I will have to search where the cables go, I opened the lower helm instrument panel to check the switch was wired and that there was power to it and low and behold an ancient radar tucked under there a Vigil RM Radar just the box of electronics, no control keyboard or display, was also checking to see where the autopilot was connected to but could find no trace of it behind the wheel, the search goes on... Oh, there is voltage going to the switch of the searchlight and the inside of the searchlight is pristine, looking closely into the mirror I could see the houses on the other side of the Holland's Deep. and that is a few km away.
Mrs Catt did some painting in the forward heads and we are slowly getting to know what does what on the boat.
The Victron is still giving me a headache as it remains on float charge even when the batteries are getting depleted, and I had to start the engines to bring the batteries up again and then it would bulk charge them for a short while.

Some updates,
The Victron 24/230/50 has not been charging the batteries and delving deeper into the installation I found that 12V was being tapped off the lower of the two batteries and that battery is now a large lump of lead and acid that is not holding a charge. we almost got ourselves gassed last weekend I had to shut off the power so we could sleep on board, thankfully most of the work we were doing was on the outside, me scrubbing the teak decks and Mrs Catt was using her silicone gun on the windows.

Looking through the invoices for work done there should have been a 24V - 12V DC to DC converter which after searching for a few hours I failed to find, just finding the 12V tap off the 0-12V battery, Victron 24-12 50A converter ordered and arrived and will be fitted on our next trip to the boat, battery balancer is fitted and the 712 monitor will be fitted next trip too.

A 4g/5g router will be fitted so I can monitor systems remotely.

2 new 12V 240Ah Varta lead acid hotel batteries ordered, €600 for the two including transport, I will need my weetabix that day as they are 60kg each.

Now the good news, the registration for the boat came through today... Hunter has a number and can fly the Belgian Flag now :D
Next, ship's radio licence applied for but could take up to 20 days to process.

Ah well. Don’t suppose you could reconsider a GB registration and then use Ofcom?
The way things were going trying to get the Belgian reg. we were considering other options, the big delay was that the son of the late owner of the boat was supposed to de register her, but he didn't and went on a sailing holiday in Spain, he was out of contact.
We should have the MMSI and ATIS numbers within a few days, it never took long when I registered Casper

Right, hopefully you’ll get it sorted shortly!
The boat registration letter arrived by post this morning, submitted that for the radio licence and we have the licence now for the VHF and ASI, just printed it off :)

One of the quirks of the the terms is that the equipment installed should remain with the boat and is not transferable to a new boat, I wonder if they re issue the callsign and ATIS/MMSI numbers to the new owner?

In the UK that’s what happens, ie the MMSI and call sign stay with the boat upon change of ownership.
