HLB\'s wundercleaner

Having had a gallon or so of the stuff sitting in my garage for some time I thought that I would try to give the boat a good spring clean with it.

I really would like to know what it should and should not be used for and in particular whether it can be used on my still sooty canopy etc?

Will it disolve my rib and does it mark gelcoat if used too strong and if so what sort of concentration is ideal?

The list of as yet unanswered questions goes on and as I recall TCM (I think)undertook painstaking research into this substance I would appreciate some guidance.

Thanks

Nick

Re: HLB\'s wundercleaner

Don't use it to clean your teeth, if you do just make sure you issue sunglasses to all around before you smile.

Shouldn't disolve your RIB, suggest that you dilute it, tcm suggests 20:1. If used neat on white fibreglass it will initially turn it yellow. Hlb very kindly carried out the very first trials on my boat, and he seemed completely unconcerned when it turned yellow and started disolving.

A little more interest was taken when I sprayed it on his RIB, that didn't change colour, the dirt literally just ran off it, no scrubbing required.

So does it work, absolutely. Is it environmentally friendly, probably not. Is it worth using, yes.

Can only be purchased from your friendly hlb corner flag shop. Am I on commission, no, unfortunately not!!

Apply concentrated to stern, and diluted 20:1 on mid and bow sections. This will solve stern weight problems you are concerned about!

Hell, this is hard work. Told you what to do with it months ago.

Method one.

bucket, hot water, pour a bit of majic elixiour in. Wash boat.

Keep some in spray type bottle. wet boat. Spray on stubourn bits. Leave a while. Gently brush. Do again if stubourn.

Fenders, use neat. Dingies. As with boat. Or use stronger, maybe neat. Work it out yer self. It's industriel strength cleaner nothing unusual. Just good stuff.

Thank you Haydn for your now clear instructions. (If I could do a smiley I would put one here). Expect to see a very shiney Corniche at Hythe this Spring.

Thanks

Re: shiny?

the wundrcleaner doesn't actually make it shiny - that's a function of how much sxcrub scrub scrubbing you've done in the past to rip off the gelcoat. and whether yerv used any jif, in which case it won't be shiny ever again. H's gear does get it superclean though, removing every trace of grime (somehow) and as a frexample after an overwinter in antibes under the flightpath i cleaned using this gear and then experimentally got a bti of white tissue to see if i cd get any more grime off and the tissue remained white. Bit sad i kno but anyway...

Remeber not to use it too neat - half an inch in a bucket is all you need. Sound rubbish, but it isn't.

TFR Traffic Film Removant

It's the dog's boll.x!!

£30 for twenty five litres a Kennedy outlets.

Spray it on, let it work and rinse it off. Remember to polish afterwards for that "as new" shine.

It wouldn't suprise me to find that all the "S.ar Brite" products are this badged differently and sold at a huuuuuuuge profit in chandlers.
