It's pretty simple to tell the difference between Phillips and Posi. Posi has diagonal cuts, which the Phillips lack.

I can't say I've had particular problems with Phillips, provided I use the Phillips screwdriver of the right size. Of course, using the wrong size of Posi driver on a stubborn screw is going to result in ungentlemanly language too!

I think the real problem people have with Phillips is that fixing screws provided with a lot of stuff are Phillips, not Pozi, inviting the use of the wrong driver, and are made of a substance just slightly harder than mature Cheddar.

Cannot disagree. Get the right size screw driver and not that worn out excuse for one that's been in the tool box since Noah !!

Can't say I have ever seen or identified a posidrive. Yes heard the name of course. Not sure why the diagonal cuts? Not to be confused with phillips head and straight slot screw heads all in one. Yes I have no 1 no 2 and no 3 phillips heads tips. (and smaller than no 1 instrument screw drivers.) A huge range of tips not sure if I have posidrive. Must have a closer look. ol'will

Using the correct screwdriver makes a lot of difference.

Mainly any thing made in Europe is likely to be pozi, USA Philips type, and Chinese made can vary depending upon the market they are aiming at.
