Statistically, average windspeed conditions for central Aegean in march are the same as Gulf of Lyon, Strait of Bonifacio, Gibraltar strait and other nice places for gale+ wind lovers...

It may get worse than the 7/9bft of summer meltemi. Maybe it is worth considering staying among Aegina Poros Spetses etc or else going towards the Turkish coast, winds should not be that strong.

Statistics... which usually mean something only if you stay there the whole month of march in two full centuries

Hi Bob ..I´ve been off line..(funeral)..so delay in reply ..sailing in Agean at easter.. ..if the past 5yrs is anything to go by,I have been sailing saronics march thro to nov..Its great you get all of those parking places to yourself..take food and booze tho because many tabernas are still closed .ok you get some cloud so not allways blue sky..biggest problem is temperature change..you find its nice and warm during day(17c+) but at 1700hrs it seems to get cold ..and the drop in temp is quite quick so it feels worse..I hope to be sailing again 1st march but dont know yet for sure..if i am your welcome aboard ... Im on the hard near Oropos north of Athens in the Evia Gulf..and will be sailing down to poros(80nmls) when I know things are more def i´ll be in touch...Bill
