Does anyone have any suggestions on the disposal of (very) out-of-date flares? Preferably on the english side and ideally outside office hours. I've been trying to contact Portishead Coastguard, but no one answers the phone . . .

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Coastguard will normally take them. Some police and firestations will also accept them, particularly if in a boaty area where they have experience of this.

Larger chandlers often provide a free service, even if you didn't buy them there.

I've seen posts where some municipal tips will accept them, but suspect that is rare.
