I find that diesels follow the same course as petrols unless they are going somewhere else, in which case they don't.

or to put it another way

as a petrol owning channel islander I am singularly unable to help you in this particular case, anyway I thought diesels never went wrong, ran out of fuel, or blew up so whats to know?

Oh they do. They over heat,
throw their belts away.
Spite out all their coolant on one engine.
Won’t start;
drink all the power in the battery.
Spring leaks, and suck up some really nasty stuff in their filters.
and thats before breakfast!

Actually they sound just like my kids, I guess similarly the only way to keep them quiet is to throw lots of money at them!

I've heard the Reading College courses highly spoken of. Have a look at the website, if only to browse the incredibly detailed course notes available online. Nearer the South Coast than you'd think.

I did the course up at Bisham Sailing School. Informative but the engines they had were very old, I have a brand new lump to look after. So in terms of basic prinicpals the course was OK but not interms of turbo diesel new technology.

So the advise would be to check out the school and make sure it matchs the age / technology of your engines.

But look at the diesels % to petrol %. By the law of averages there will be more hic ups as there are more of them around, /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
