Dear Mr xxxxxxx
I have received the complaint that you made to Jersey Harbours with some concern.
I have discussed your concerns with the Captain who was in command of CONDOR 10 on that day. He was unaware of the problems that he caused to you in passing between your boat and the buoy. I cannot explain why Condor 10 did not hear your radio call as two separate VHF radios were monitoring Ch 16 at the time.
It is certainly our wish to be good neighbours with all other vessels and I am very sorry that we caused you this problem and am glad that you were able to turn to face the wash without mishap.
We are currently fitting Voyage Data Recorders to all of our vessels. Once comissioned these recorders will allow me to review any incidents in great detail and will be able to give definative answers which is unfortunantly not the present situation.
Please accept our apologies and I have reminded our Masters of the possibility of inconvenience and danger of passing too close to small vessels such as yours.
Yours sincerely
