Hi,

Have been stripping the varnish off the cockpit Iroko seats, whilst they have come up well there is black in the grain where it has opened up overtime, don't wont to sand it back to much more as don't want to loose to much depth, is there any product on the market that would penetrate and clean it up ???

Many thanks

The usual oxalic acid or teak brighteners would help, though you might not get it to look like planed wood. Usually you leave it on for a while then rinse well with water.

No sanding required!!......... Boracol 10 available here http://www.diyrefurb.co.uk/buy/boracol-10rh_67.htm . Consistency of water, simply apply with a paint brush when there are a couple of dry days forecast as it needs to soak in. Doesn't have an obvious immediate effect but you will notice after a couple of weeks the black starts to disappear. I apply start and end of the season and nothing grows on, or in the teak deck.

Recommended by Hallberg Rassy for teak decks, brilliant stuff!
