Life Boat John I may not like the flavour of your postings but at the end of the day you are a lifeboatman who gives up his free time for the safety of others. Most of us ,like me,do sod all for the benefit of others so keep up the good work John but please try not to come over like a health and safety lecturer...

Lowestoft, wasn't it one of your boats that rolled and then the tyne that came out to assist pitch-poled? Late eighties early nineties?

Great blog and interesting reading. We had similar punters with a toy dingy paddling off a beach into a tidal eddie which rapidly towed them away from the beech.

Not in this area, Dogwatch. There was a waveney that rolled over up North. I think it was Teeside and a crew member was lost overboard but recovered a few hours later safe and well.
