BE lives near the Dorking contingent, what say we:-

Set up a 5mph chicane outside his house.

Sneak in and trolley jack his petrol tank down to one gallon.

Not allow him to drive anywhere - except for two hours on a Saturday and Sunday every fortnight.

Apply for planning permission to build a GP circuit in his neighbouring vineyard.

With affordable housing, obviously.

Any other ideas?

Surprised ?

Surely Not !!

You have to recognise that 'engines' and power are common to both loves in a strange kind of way??. It would be really interesting to equate the number of 'power boaters' to mechanical/electrical backgrounds as opposed to our sailing brethren, and this despite both sports being so different in terms of experience ( i.e one getting there , one being there). I will never foreget being in the company of 3 well-lauded posters hereabouts who all confessed to a Mech Eng background ( I was foolishly suggesting a mechanical solution at the time I found this out ) yet none have made their fortunes or otherwise in that environment. How to feel like a total dick in 1 sublime moment !

Anyway back to the real issue on your subject matter. I no longer really can get interested in F1 due to the OTT 'globalisation' that our Bernie has got involved in. I totally respect his need for new young 'wimmin but as a politician he's shite. Having said that if it weren't for him F1 would have died in the 80's . So At End Of Day good luck to him.

For those who love REAL motor racing, we have been to last 3 Monaco GP historique ... even better than Goodwood, and I wish I had the marketing rights.

P.S. Have you done the French questions yet ?

Re: gludy

yet again (and esp seing as i am still in line to be knighted) i am entirely in agreement.

I wonder...how radical the tories will have to become to get into power? 10% income tax is easily a runner, bearing in mind the relatively small proprtion income tax contributes (under 25% i beleive ) towards govt revenues....

Re: gludy

The amount of contribution income tax above 25% makes is also very, very small small.

A straight 10% tax on all income with simple negative tax rules to support those who genuinely are in need is a radical but simple answer. Huge sums of money now wasted in administration would be freed ... there you are I am getting carried away again.......

you are getting close to being awarded the Knight of Gludy Lake award!!!

Gludy Lake

No way , some of us have fished there ( and paid for the privilege). Yorkshire-folks are banned.

Re: Knighted ??

Yes , but he's Welsh .

As you're not a real Londoner and he's Welsh-ish , I'm sure you 'll appreciate that being a Welsh prince doesn't count for much. Hell, if you were a real prince they'd kill you .

Sorry, i missed the question at the end of your post.

Jean Pierre Jabouille, Rene Arnoux, Patrick Tombay, Jean Pierre Jarier, Jacques Laffite, Patrick Gaillard, Didier Pironi.
I think are the names you are looking for/forums/images/icons/cool.gif.

But can you name the Driver who drove in the same race in his own built car???
A clue, he's from Mexico.....

Re: welsh

yeah, well, since we've only been in the poo since the scots turned up, i think it much better that we move everything to nice cheap cardiff where there is still a building (plus castle) that the govt can fit into, and gludy can sortem out in his spare time. Praps as a nice gesture gludy will let me have some old disused blgs in and around whitehall to convert into flats for the homeless millionaire civil servants, and in return we cd have a nice marina on the thames.

Re: gludy

ah come on please factor in all those civil servants on benfits...../forums/images/icons/smile.gif
I last went to Silverstone 2 years ago and enjoyed it for many of the reasons given above but don't remember seeing much 'racing' - this is of course not a silverstone thing.
That this current situation has been carefully manipulated is without doubt, and you have to admire the guy for the way he has done it. He should however be ostracised by polite society - which will leave him the rich buggers he deserves and won't impress.

Doesn\'t Miss a Trick

Think you and Gludy should set up a business together, something called "World Domination Inc." .

Totally agree about Cardiff , still available for sale for threepnce halfpenny and you can sack your own civil servants.
However We suspect that you have some 'local' knowledge on this subject .

Are you Welsh ?

Well done,
I'm off too the boat now for the weekend, I'll think about some more F1 trivia and try you on it next week.
