Can just about understand why insurance might fork out if for whatever reason the skipper manages to damage his sterngear by accident or negligence but would have thought the matter of making sure your anodes are there and working is surely a service and maintenance matter.
The skipper did the work, its his problem, somebody was paid, its their problem. ?
Fair wear and tear.
In my case it was not due to lack of maintenance, it was an unusual event external to my boat, at the time a nearby live aboard boat had electrical problems and the marina removed it's anodes from the lifting berth while doing some metal work.

Yep, boat left at greenways for a lift out for a couple of months while I get survey, bssc, and possibly change to dripless shaft seals.
I was walking along the bank opposite Pyes Mill and saw a Princess 30ds called Snowbird heading upstream and put two and two together having previously noticed that you are Broads based 😁

To cut to the chase, exactly what are you getting for the £400.00 or nearly 100% difference in those premiums.
Recall in the dim and distant past getting a very impressive quote from " my" friendly brick & mortar broker (a personal friend) to reinsure a Princess 33 which resulted in a risk being taken by getting a quote from one of those new fangled interweb only marine only insurance companies.
The internet quote was something like only 60% of the brokers price, a saving of something approaching £100.00 for what appeared to the uneducated to be exactly the same "we will not pay for" conditions.
Took a chance and went with the internet outfit , was suprised when the paperwork arrived via snail mail, that the insurance company involved was exactly the same, appreciate that bricks and mortar brokers do have to make a profit.
Made a couple of claims with this internet only outfit, the first claim being made via a landline phone and FAX machine the second a mobile phone and laptop with Pdfs or Jpgs, a quick email was all it took to amend a couple of restrictions regards use and conditions.
Lured away when SAGA got involved with marine insurance aimed at the " ancient mariner", they quickly bailed out and flogged their database to one of the big well known marine insurers, this well known company matched SAGAs premiums for the first renewal and then it was up up and away premium wise.....................
Back now with my original interweb company.
Do recall from running a business in the past, quoting some horrific prices to certain customers in the hope they would go away, curiously some folks assume that the most expensive price will result in the best service....if only. :)

GJW. Just had my renewal for this year and same price as I paid last year. No increase.
Looked at last years premium compared the year previous to that and increase was only a few pounds.

Craftinsure for me and a few quid less than last year.
Same here and just renewed with them.
Did of course spend a while getting few quotes from other companies and every single one was more expensive than Craftinsure one or two considerably more.
A cursory view of what was offered did not seem in to be any different.

This of course has induced a certain amount of paranoia that Craftinsure is not providing the required amount of cover or alternatively folks insuring elsewhere are paying for some pretty thick carpet on some office.
Always assumed if you are paying a Rolls Royce price you will be getting a Rolls Royce, if you pay for Dacia....etc etc
Wonder if this applies in the world of marine insurance.
