Brittany Ferries - new ship Galicia

Update re Pont Aven. Contrary to a previous announcement from BF, this ferry will be on the Plymouth/Santander route. They’ve also improved (made it like the old one) the layout of the timetable on the latest BF site

Brittany Ferries - new ship Galicia

‘Brittany Ferries has confirmed it is in the final stages of negotiation for the sale of Cap Finistère to Italian shipping company GNV’. GNV added trips from mainland Spain to the Balearics last year, I wonder what route she will be on? Like you, the Pont Aven was my favourite!

A head versus heart decision for Play d'eau

I remember you waiting for delivery of the Fleming, also the ‘incident’ re the propeller after leaving vlissingen (your princess) still missing Toby’s fudge dispensing service, hard to imagine him married with children! Re other cruise incidents, were you there when a boat hit the bottom...

Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

I agree with you, but UK gov states in Foreign Travel advice - Spain :- Antigen tests are not accepted if you are travelling from the UK to Spain for tourism purposes.

Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

Spain! Well nearly, not an entry requirement, but if you don’t have one, in most cases, you will need a covid test for entry to the islands from the mainland.

Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

Yes, printouts galore, lamination, a bit OCD for me! The 2D code. Yes, they all expire on the 20th June, speculation has it that the code expires as a result of a possible change of coding to allow an alignment with the EU. Allegedly it’s the 2D code that expires, not the certificate! Roger to...

Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

I haven't a clue, I’m banking on the NHS! Another oddity, if you have a double jab cert, they say it’s valid for 8 months, presumably after that, your back into the ‘unclean’ set and needing a covid test.

Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

Yes, it’s the same procedure, if you wish, you can download the form from the BF site. https://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/sites/default/files/2020-11/FCS inglés_barco_V3.pdf For transit from the mainland to the islands the same form is offered by trasmediterranea, there’s also online system...

Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

Thanks for reminding me, I know someone who’ll be delighted to be reacquainted with the details. I just hope there’s not a ‘sandwich’ content inspection on arrival in Santander, obviously I’ll point out I bought it in ‘France’! If it’s not a prompt disembarkation, I’ll miss the ferry in Barcelona.

Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

Thanks for your kind offer, as we’ll be stopping at a few service areas on the way down, I wouldn’t like to give you an unexpected ‘gift’! After the cancellation of the sailing on the 29th, I changed to the 9th (Portsmouth), subsequently changed to the 6th (Pont Aven, Plymouth), the (cunning)...
