Re: CCS- warning

Not anymore! New charger and bigger battery bank. now only six hours evry two days, unless I've been motor sailing. They also told me the ballearics were packed. Not in my experience this year they weren't. Costa del sol? well who would want to go there anyway!

Re: CCS- warning

colin - don't know who to believe! Planning next year at the moment - only problem is I don't know whether I'll still have a job! at the moment the plan is to go to Northern Spain - Bilbao - someone said it was a really good long weekend cruising area - plus V cheap flights to Bilbao. Also apperantly uncrowded and cheap??? Most people apparently pass by the North Coast making landfall at Corunna.

Crappy Histmas!

Re: CCS- warning

Northern Spain was wonderful, however I don't know what the long term
effects of the oil spill will be or the new fishing regs, I can see some upheaval on the horizon. Bilbao itself, and las arenas is a very dirty harbour area, some of the places further east are fine. But Bermeo is not the place to leave a yacht. I would be thinking more east, with these areas kept for longer cruising, when you can anchor in some of the calas etc. The ballearics are fine, lots of good anchorages, but marinas in the summer are expensive. But the spanish coast is not far away, cheap flights to the ballearics and barcelona, valencia. Take your pick!! Sardinia for me next winter.
